The Jalle II is a sculptural piece that carries memory into form. Named after Jalle, a payam in Bor, South Sudan, it honours stories of my mother’s youth, swimming in the Nile, catching fish by hand, moving with the rhythm of drums, and gathering under the moon to share folklore.
Handcrafted from mycelium and hemp hurd, each Jalle II is entirely unique, its texture and tone shaped by nature itself. The enlarged 25cm shade gives this edition a stronger presence - one that can rest as a quiet sculpture or be transformed into a lamp that diffuses a soft, earthy glow.
At once object and light, the Jalle II embodies individuality, heritage, and the harmony between nature and design.
